Volt’s Editorial Rocker Shoot

In September of 2024, the Volt Salons team came together with professional photographer, Misty Ranae, and four models to create a sexy, edgy editorial shoot that showcased the high-level professional makeup artistry, hair execution and high-fashion conceptualization skills that set us apart from any old hair salon. The results were four looks that would absolutely stop the show at any occasion.

Our stylist team paired up to bring their creative visions to life through hair, makeup, wardrobe styling and accessories.

On our first model, Matthew completed a vivid metallic smokey eye with high contrast contouring, while Emma slayed a small ringlet, bodied curl for the hair look. We shot her absolutely working it on a bar top and motorcycle while playing with a grungey spin on well-known Texas motifs like cowboy hats and boots.

Our second team consisted of Amanda on hair and Ryan on makeup. Ryan is our resident professional makeup artist and it really shows in this look, with her outlined full lid cat-eye, facial contouring and flattering design to suit the models face. Amanda completed a complex updo, incorporating braids, body and a pony. We leaned into the cat eye, styling her in animal print and leather.

Renee, Kara and Kellie teamed up to execute our third look - an absolute amazon with hair for days. Kara was on makeup, giving our model a sultry charcoal lid with heavy lashes and high contrast cheek bones. Renee styled her hair with a small barrel curling iron that created tight waves and so much body. Kellie styled a Halo Couture hair piece to just add that extra oomph and when it all came together - the result was so stunning. We kept with the bad girl theme and gave her some fur and a cigarette to play with.

The last look of the day was all Ashley - from idea to execution. A retro, rockabilly Coke can curl was the perfect vintage look to throw in the mix. We gave this model some innocent stylist to leaning into virtues of old and then did a one eighty and gave her a greaser-like look too!
